March 2014

Our March meeting is nearly upon us and my thoughts have turned to producing the Martlets Newsletter for our March meeting also our January meeting with our New Year Banquet…mmmm there was loads of yummy food. The New Year Banquet was introduced to celebrate the new millennium and we have had a banquet every year since.

Our Suppliers for our January meeting were Jenny and Graham Hudson, who brought loads of bobbins to tempt us.

Our suppliers in March will be ‘Summertimehols’ alias Holly Dale with her range of hand crafted gift ware which now includes some lacemaking items…and Bunglebee Lace alias Brenda Bristow with her range of lace threads and wools. See you there....

I did warn every one that this was going to be a very slow blog!!...I did not realise just how slow...
Happy New Year to everyone, 2014 is almost upon us....where did 2013 go?!....I know it went very very fast...with lots of lace gatherings, lace being made...

Rabbits everywhere!.....

Rabbits appeared everywhere! Thanks to Jean Eke and her rabbit workshop, we had such fun. Why not take a look at Jeans Web site http://www.jeanmaryeke.co.uk

We hope to have a good gathering of rabbits on May 11th, our next meeting. This time we are going to hear a 'Yarn about a Yarn' by Pauline Hardwick and she is also our supplier.

February Update

I had not realized that it had been so long since my last update! ‘Time goes fast when you are having fun’ as they say…

We had our 25^th birthday in November, it was a great day ….cake made by Joke with a beautiful silver lace flower, she had designed and made, on the top. The early scrapbooks were there for a trip down memory lane, also members received a specially designed commemorative pillow bag, this was the winning design of an earlier competition.

Also we celebrated the New Year 2013 with our ‘New Year Banquet’, started in 2000 to bring in the new millennium in style, and now a much loved tradition.

Our March meeting is fast approaching on March 9^th and we will be all making our Mad March Hares with Jean Eke.

Preparations are well under way for our Silver display at the Weald Fair on the 16^th March 2013. 

This is to be held at Collyer’s Sixth Form College, Hurst Road, Horsham, West Sussex RH12 2EJ.
